Sycamore Brewing Company's Mountain Candy IPA

Updated: May 1, 2018

Sycamore Brewing's Mountain Candy was phenomenal! This medal-winning IPA, brewed at 7.5%, pours a clear golden color with aromas of citrus and tropical fruit on the nose.

Those aromas set up the taste as flavors of lemon, lime, melon, and candy all greet the palate. I really appreciated the balance of this beer on two fronts. One, the base malt really anchored the beer. You don't taste much maltiness, but it does effectively set up the amazing hop flavors which surface mid-taste. The various hop flavors provide a fruitiness that really rounds off some of the bitterness as well. As a matter of fact, this brew is great for non-IPA fans as the perceived bitterness is lower.

I can't say enough great things about this brew--its so easy to drink and it's loaded with flavor. That's why it is one of my favorite Charlotte IPAs. Cheers! #BeerReview #FindYourCraft #IPA
